He is survived by: his children, Teresa Goodwin (Matthew) and Colin Orton (Carla); and his grandchildren, Logan Orton, Cheyenne Goodwin, Everett Goodwin, Emma Orton, Gunnar Goodwin and Colton Goodwin.

“To the family of George Orton I am a fromer shipmate of Geo, we met in 1973 as part of the precomm crew of the USS. Kalamaxoo (AOR-6) We were like brothers for the next 3 yrs. When I left the ship in 1976, I lost connect with him until we found each other on FB. I was hoping to see him when we visit our daughter in Va this summer, I guess it wasn't ment to be. My prayers go out to your family, that you get though the the next coming months. Geo was a good man and will not be forgotten”
