It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Floreine Winfree Johnston of Kernersville, North Carolina, born in Wadesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on February 13, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Walter Hurley Bivens; her husband Waymon Norway Johnston, Jr. (Johnny); and her siblings, Charles Bivens, Martha Bivens and Patsy Bivens Darcey.
She is survived by: her children, Phylis Johnston Blackmon (Harold Blackmon) of Murphy, Samuel Aron Johnston (Michele Johnston) of Shallotte and Cynthia Johnston Lomax (William Lomax) of Charlotte; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Johnston Francis (Michael Francis), Sarah Elizabeth Blackmon (Wade West) and Michael Aaron Blackmon (Sarah Alison Blackmon). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
