With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elsie Spink (Kernersville, North Carolina), born in Fair Bluff, North Carolina, who passed away on September 11, 2019 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her sibling French Devon Edwards; her former husband Lewis McCarter; her husband Mark Spink; and her siblings, Mable Edwards Strickland, Dennis Rozier Edwards, Roger Pittman Edwards, Willie James Edwards and Edwin Dewayne Edwards.
She is survived by: her sibling Frostie Hilbourn Edwards; her children, Sonja McCarter Matson of Morrisville, Lori McCarter Stafford (Jerry) of Greensboro and Christopher Reid McCarter of Kernersville; her grandchildren, Andrew Matson of Los Angeles, Austin Matson of Scottsdale, Hillary Matson of San Francisco, Garrison Stafford (Brianna) of Greensboro, Grace Stafford of Durham, Samuel Stafford of Greensboro and Raigan McCarter of Kernersville; and her siblings, Linda Cooke of Richmond, Virginia, Elizabeth Nance of Chadburn, Edna McClary of Rock Hill, Shella Long of Lake Waccamaw, John Edwards of Clover and Woodrow Edwards of Lexington. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
