He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Stanford Beard and Lois Whatley Beard; and his former wife Vicki Carter Beard. He is survived by: his wife Pamela McBride Beard; his children, Justin Beard (Jess), April Elizabeth Beard, Joe Beard, Stephen Brown (Andrea), Sarah Billups (Joey) and Seth Brown; his grandchildren, Chai, Asher, Hosanna, Mercy, Avi, Julia, Wesley and Henry; his brother Kevin Beard (Cathey); his nieces and nephews, Kristen, Lauren and Pam; and his pets, Bella and Beau.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM at the Crossing Church - Union Cross (1650 Pecan Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27107). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
