He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Brooks and Margaret Brooks. He is survived by: his spouse Mervin Omera Douglas; his children, Julie Brooks of Linden, N. C. and Todd; his daughter-in-law Sarah Brooks of Marlow, Okla.; his grandchildren, Matthew of Marlow, Maggie of Marlow, Mark of Marlow, Micah of Marlow and Max of Marlow; and his brothers, Lewey Brooks of Cleveland and Dewey Brooks of Indiana.
