He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Payne and Catherine Gray Payne of Kernersville; and his sister Elizabeth Payne. He is survived by: his significant other Angela "Angie" Tilley; his children, Lindsay Payne of Wilmington, Adam Payne of High Point, Katie Payne (Tyler Vaught) of Denton and Kelsey Bedford of Thomasville; and his siblings, Dr. Chris Payne (Fred) of Greensboro and Paul Payne (Christina) of High Point. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church, 2937 N. Main Street, High Point, NC 27265.
