It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Mears of Kernersville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 10, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Ross Rice and Treva Fern Long Rice; and her siblings, Laura Sapp (Donald), Roland Rice (Louise), W. A. Rice (Norris), Max Rice (Wilma) and Larry Joe Rice.
She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Morton; her sister Patty Sue Idol (Richard) of Kernersville; her grandchildren, Aaron Morton (Melinda) of Greensboro, Christy Turner (Brian) of Ohio and Brian Morton of Ohio; and her great grandchildren, Michael, Megan Turner of Ohio, Andrew, Emilie Morton of Greensboro and LeeAnn Morton of Ohio. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
