He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Yow, Sr. and Merle Briggs Yow; and his brother Robert Yow. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Yow; his daughters, Ashley Plaster (Allen) and Allyson Allen (Chris); his grandchildren, Brice Piatt (Katie), Meagan Piatt, Ashlyn Plaster, Joshua Crater and Mason Allen; and his siblings, Becky Crabill (Ralph), Lena Grant (Bill) and John Yow (Connie). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth County Public Library, Attn - Kristin Schneider, 660 West 5th St, Winston-Salem, 27101. Donors can note in their donation to have a nameplate "In memory of Carl Yow, Jr." placed in books purchased with their gift, if desired.
