He was predeceased by: his parents, Drury Spain and Daisy Fitcher; and his grandmother Elizabeth Spain. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Spain; his son Allen Spain Jr.; his daughter-in-law Michelle Spain; his grandsons, Luke, Cole, Logan and Andrew; his siblings, Sheldon Spain and Lucinda Reams; and his brother-in-law Raymond Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Allen can be made to the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, an organization close to his heart.
