He is survived by: his children, William Murphy Jr. (Kim) of Lucama, Michael Murphy of Kenly and Crystal Murphy of Smithfield; his sister Patsy McCullen of Wilson; his grandchildren, Anthony Murphy, David Murphy, Jordan Barbee, Jessica Barbee, Drake Edgerton and Mark Edgerton Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Everleigh Murphy, Nathan Murphy, William Horton, Owen Horton, Maci Murphy and Samantha Walsh. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
