He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Edward Butler, Sr. and Rebecca Pendergraft Butler; his significant other Lorraine Crocker; and his siblings, Jim Moccia, Wert Jackson Butler and Priscilla Moccia Hilliard.

He is survived by: his daughter Alicia Butler (Robert); his granddaughter Nova Rain Hopkins; and his niece Cheri Moccia.
