He was predeceased by: his father Nathan Sr. Ray. He is survived by: his wife Lettie Crocker Ray; his sisters, Sherry Watts and Phyllis Miller; and his children, Vicki Carwell (Ronnie) of Raleigh, Scott Ray (Annie) of Smithfield, Sharon Ellis (Craig) of Middlesex and Annette Eatmon (Bexley) of Sims. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nascar Foundation or DPC- Dialysis Patients Citizens.
