He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Rufus; his wife Ellen Beck Laws; and his siblings, Edith York, Thelma Nasi and Lawrence Laws.

He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Laws (Nicole) of Kenly, NC and Jason Laws of Cameron, NC; his sisters, Ruth, Judy, Ruby and Lillian; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Connor and Cowen.
