It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Michael Keene of Kenly, North Carolina, who passed away on March 11, 2022, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Maxton Keene and Lois Carter Keene; and his brother-in-law Henderson. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Capps Keene; his daughter April Massey (Todd) of Princeton; his stepchildren, Chasney Foster (Travis) of Kenly and Chase Gurley (Brooke Sherman) of Smithfield; his siblings, Wayne Keene (Sue) of Wallace, Faye Carter (John) of Jacksonville and Brenda Henderson of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Hope, Ethan Massey and Carter Foster; and his close friends, Stacey Sasser, Cailey Adams, Johnny and Gail McLamb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to UNC Children's Cancer Hospital, 101 Manning Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
