It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elmer Ray Murray of Kenly, North Carolina, who passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Elmer Ray farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Elmer Ray is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry Murray and Alberta Hinnant Murray. He is survived by: his siblings, Sidney Barnes (Bobby), Alice Murray (Tony), James Murray (Dorothy) and Robert Murray (Loretta). He is also survived by six nieces and nephews; four step-nieces; nine great nieces and nephews; and eight step-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kenly Funeral & Cremation Service (103 E 2nd St, Kenly, NC 27542). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
