She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Grice and Mary Parnell Grice; her husband Richard Elijah Thompson; her stepson Ricky Thompson; her brothers, Leon Elbert "Bo" Grice, Cecil Edward "Tom" Grice, Rudolph Leon "Hunk" Grice, Billy Ray Grice, Willard Perry "Frog" Grice and Jessie Carlton "Jake" Grice; and her close friend Elton Martin.

She is survived by: her brother Melvin "Dick" Grice of Kenly. She is also survived by twelve nieces; five nephews; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
