He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Carter and Ruby Lee Carter; his granddaughter Kayla; and his siblings, Jimmy Wayne Carter and Vicky Currie.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Carter; his children, David Carter (Kim) of Lumberton, Jamie Carter (Monica) of Princeton, NC and Alicia Johnson (Buddy) of Kenly; his grandchildren, Mandie, Cody, Hunter, Austin and Anna Grace; and his sisters, Judy Tyner (Kenny) of Lumberton and Brenda Carter Currin of Maxton.
