He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Godwin Mayo; his children, Jennifer Mayo (Stephen Barnes) of Burlington, Jessica Mayo Griffin (Daniel) of Alaska, Daniel Thomas Mayo, Walter Mayo and Troy Mayo; his parents, Dennis Mayo and Dorothy Mae Newcomb Mayo of Bailey; and his brothers, Kevin Mayo (Rebecca) of Lucama and Dennis Michael Mayo of Bailey. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
