He was predeceased by: his parents, James Atlas and Mittie Allen Pittman of Johnston County; and his siblings, Robert Pittman, James A. Pittman, Jr., Bobby Pittman and Alma Pittman Stanford.
He is survived by: his significant other Iris Ferrell Pittman; his children, Teresa Pittman KIrby (Curtis) of Lucama and Charles Anthony Pittman of Kenly; his grandchildren, Jamie Edwards (Lyndsey), Ashley Edwards, Jarrett Kirby, Victoria Kirby and Matthew Etheridge; his great grandchildren, Drake, Dawson and Sammy Edwards; and his sister Jean Wooten of Pikeville. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
While flowers are appreciated, the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Piney Grove FWB Church to be used towards a Fellowship Hall renovation project.
