She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Evans and Mildred Evans Aycock; her husband Earl Jackson Hales; and her siblings, Doug Evans, Billy Evans, Harvey Evans and Jo Ann Langston.

She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Ambrose (TJ) of Kenly, Kathy Kennedy (Robbie) of Selma and Kristy Barefoot (Jeff) of Kenly; and her grandchildren, Rebekah Ambrose, Ryan Ambrose, Caroline Barefoot and Jackson Barefoot.
