He was predeceased by: his parents, William McCrea Sr. and Rose Redmond; his former wife Janet McCrea; his siblings, Joel McCrea and Susan Redmond Cooper; and his niece Darinda Cooper.

He is survived by: his wife Lisa Ann McCrea (Chestnutt); his daughters, Niyah Dotson (Maurice) of Lilburn, GA and Serenity McCrea; his stepdaughters, Jessica Autry of Raleigh, NC and Cynthia Ann Chestnutt; his grandchildren, Savannah Dotson, Jataviha Taylor, Janelle Moore, Anthony Moore and Darrell Moore; his brother James Redmond of Philadelphia; his father-in-law Albert Jr. Chestnutt; his siblings-in-law, Alberta Chestnutt, Joshia "Tasha" Chestnutt, Carisa Watson, Shecrone Chestnutt, Albert Wayne Chestnutt (Renora) and Tony Chestnutt; his niece Aaniyah Scarborough; and his cousins, Debra, Shake, Poo and Melvin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
