She was predeceased by: her husband Durwood Holmes; her daughter Mary Lynn Holmes Murphy; her grandson Thomas Franklin Murphy; her parents, John B. Robinson and Lucille Godwin Robinson; and her brother Russell H. Robinson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lori Holmes Brock (Ronald Allen) of Mount Olive, Donna Holmes Martin (Hugh Bryant) of Faison and Alison Holmes Hall of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Michael Brock, Christopher Brock, Ernest Murphy IV, Faith Taylor, Bradley Taylor, Laura Martin Mello and Kristen Martin Canterbury; her children, Robin Offield of Goldsboro and Christopher Smith of New Bern; her sisters, Brenda R. Ivey of Fayetteville, Louise R. Ivey of Lucama and Beverly R. Carlisle of Weldon; and her sister-in-law Lucille Holmes Winders of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by four daughters, some grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
