He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilkes and Julia Belle Hodge Wilkes; his siblings, Tamara Kunston and Larry Wilkes; and his stepson Jeff Langston.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Brown Wilkes of Kannapolis; his son Timothy Wilkes (Cathy) of Landis; his granddaughter Megan Rose; and his siblings, Billy Joe Wilkes, Ann Burke and Shan Misenheimer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
