She was predeceased by: her parents, William J. Deese and Jessie Kerley; her husband Kermit C. "Babe" Brackett; her son Bishop Bobby S. Brackett (Gayle) of Matthews; her grandson David S. Brackett; her son-in-law Bishop Ray T. Lewis; and her siblings, Bill Deese, Jackie Kerley, Katherine Smith and Joanne Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Judith B. Lewis of Concord, Darlene B. Hicks (Franklin Hicks) of Concord, Kathy B. Pegram (Bishop Steve Pegram) of Monroe, GA and David H. Brackett (Sue) of Davidson; her daughter-in-law Joyce C. Brackett of Stanley; her siblings, Delores K. Holden, Kenneth and Herman Kerley; and her sister-in-law Martha Kerley. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
