He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Kennedy and Johnie Mae Washington Kennedy; his granddaughter Jessica Thomas; and his brothers, Wilbert Kennedy, Tommy Kennedy and Donald Kennedy.
He is survived by: his son Bryant Foster (Judy Washington-Foster) of Kannapolis, NC; and his brother William Kennedy (Jo) of Florence, SC.
