It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Newsom of Kannapolis, North Carolina, who passed away on August 1, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Pearl Edwards Godwin; her husband Frank Newsom; her siblings, Curtis, Fermon, Van Godwin, Ethel Nall, Inez Tarlton and Nell Carpenter; and her son-in-law James Quantz.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Sherrill (Lonnie) of Stanley and Dianne Quantz of Richfield; her grandchildren, Reggie Sherrill (Lesley), Jason Sherrill (Tracy) and Delenia Bringle (Eric); her great grandchildren, Jake Sherrill, Caden, Jared and Sarah Bringle; and her sister Jean Stegall.
