She was predeceased by: her husband Shuford Benfield Deal; her daughter Peggy Ann; and her siblings, Norman Gene, Robert Black and Mary Black Phifer.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Raper (Dennis) of Kannapolis, Vickie Pate (Ray) of Kannapolis, Amy Conner (Doug) of Kannapolis and Patty Eagle (Keith) of Kannapolis; and her brothers, Tommy Black of China Grove and Roy Black of Kannapolis. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
