She was predeceased by: her father Ruben Rucker Metcalf; her husband James L. McCarty; and her brothers, Roland and Charles Metcalf. She is survived by: her daughter Melony Kuyath (Steve) of Boone; her brother Terry Metcalf (Mavis) of Concord; and her granddaughters, Chelsea Kuyath of Boone and Nikki Kuyath Aldridge (Jeremy) of Laurel Springs. She is also survived by two great grandchildren and other cousins.
