He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Glenn and Ersie Faye Eller McGuire; his son Robert Wayne McGuire; his sister Carole McGuire Sides; and his son-in-law Tony Overcash.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Hallman McGuire; his children, Teresa McGuire Overcash and Phillip Gene McGuire, Jr. (Amanda); his siblings, Dene McGuire, Sr. (Ramell) and Linda McGuire Benton (Bub); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Bailey (Hannah), Andrew Overcash (Alex) and Laura Williams (Jake).
