He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Jasper Barr and Minnie Lail Barr; his sons, Tony Dale and Mark Kenneth Barr; and his siblings, David Barr, Betty Barr McDonald, Ruth Barr Kerley and Evelyn Barr Kirby.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Mae Boger Barr; his brother Bobby Gene Barr; his caregivers, Dale and Shirley Ludwick; and his grandchildren, Lindsey and Jonathan White. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made in Paul's memory to the Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina, 204 Idol St, Thomasville, NC 27360.
