She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl H. Steele and Rena Carter Steele; her husband Bennie Ray Mills; and her brothers, Bobby and Sonny Steele.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Foster (Terri) of Kannapolis, Chuck Foster (Julie) of Charlotte and Denise Johannes of Kannapolis; and her sisters, Brenda Belk (Ralph) of Landis and Jeanie Deese of Monroe. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
