She was predeceased by: her parents, Gurley R. Petrea and Era Rodgers Petrea; her former husband Johnny Purser; and her brother Jerry Petera. She is survived by: her children, Lamont Purser, Derrick Purser (Mary) and Rhonda "Sissy" Whitlow (Skip); her brothers, Ray Petrea of Kannapolis and John Thomas Petrea (Connie) of Kannapolis; and her grandchildren, Thomas, Sarah Purser and Mark Whitlow. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
