She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. L. E. "Buck" Lawing and Ruth Inez Norris Lawing; her husband Warren David Hicks; and her siblings, Ronald Edward Lawing, Donald Webster Lawing, Steven Lane Lawing and Dell Raye Benfield.
She is survived by: her children, Rocky Leonard Lawing (Christina) of Kannapolis and Sonia Michelle Absher (Christopher Short) of Salisbury; and her grandchildren, Ryan, Alexis, Ashley, Haylee, Emily and Breanna.
