He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Roosevelt and Mae Elizabeth Christy; his former wife Betty Collins Christy; and his brother James "Jim" Christy. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Land Christy; his sister-in-law Bonnie Christy; and his nieces and nephews, Noelle Baker (Dupree) of Kannapolis, Brenda Cumbee (Archie) of Fuquay-Varina, Jackie LeFever of Fayetteville, Barbara Sullivan (Bobby) of Salisbury, Deborah Lilly of Greenville, Matt Christy of Concord, Les Robinson (Vonda) of Greenville and Joe Manning (Christy) of Greenville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Per the family's request, masks will be required and social distancing is highly encouraged.
