He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joe Compton and Betty Compton; his grandparents, Ralph and Odessa Harris; his daughter Emily Kay Compton; his wife Martha Dover Compton; his son Matt Compton (Carole) of Morehead City; his grandchildren, Cooper and Carson; his brother Scott Compton of Kannapolis; his pet Zoe; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Delaney (Mick), Ken Dover and Billy G. Dover Jr. (Tina). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
