He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Cheek and Emma Sexton Cheek; his wife Terry Faye Tennent Leonard; his grandson Darien Bean; and his siblings, Ricky Cheek and Beverly Brantley.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Leonard of Kannapolis and Cynthia Bean (Henry) of Ladson, SC; and his grandchildren, Heather, Jonathan, Rebekah Leonard and Kai Bean. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
