He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Lawhorn McKinley; his children, John of Blacksburg, SC, James of Charlottesville, VA, Joseph of Kannapolis and Jennifer Jarrell; his grandchild Erin Jarrell of Stanley, NC; and his stepson Shannon DeArmon of Asheville. He is also survived by dogs with his father.
