He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Clark "Buster" and Letha McManus; and his nephew Forbes McManus. He is survived by: his siblings, Donnie McManus (Hope) and Karen Allen; his brother-in-law Steve Allen of Concord, NC; his nephews, Scott Carter (Tammy) of Ellenboro, NC and Chad Allen of Southport, NC; his niece Kimberly Sellers (Monty) of Harrisburg, NC; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brandon Carter, Rosie Carter, Brooke Stewart, Jesse Stewart, Emma Stewart, Ryan Sellers, Cassidy Sellers and Joshua Allen.
