She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore McCain and Desiree Young McCain; and her husband Willie James Shankle. She is survived by: her daughter Arkita Steele; her sisters, Jacqueline Reid of Kannapolis, NC and Joyce Y. Alexander of Concord, NC; her adoptive son Jule McCormick, Jr. of Kannapolis, NC; her aunt Martha Brooks of Concord, NC; and her close friend Jule McCormick, Sr. of Kannapolis, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
