James Stroup Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 3, 2019, at the age of 71, James Stroup (Kannapolis, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur and Martha Lee Whitley Stroup; his grandson Matthew Starnes; and his stepson Scott Brown. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Jean Stroup; his children, Gene Stroup (Kim) of Raleigh, Dina Story (Chris) of Albemarle and Lisa Starnes of Albemarle; his stepsons, Doug Brown (Jan) of China Grove and Michael Brown (Sharon) of China Grove; and his brother Gary Stroup (Cheryl) of Albemarle. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to Lakewood Baptist Church, 806 Kluttz St., Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
