He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hobart Benson, Sr. and Grace Ferguson Benson. He is survived by: his son James David Benson (Jana) of Kannapolis; his grandchildren, Melisha Benson Fisher (Matt) of Kannapolis and James David Benson, Jr. of Kannapolis; and his great grandchildren, Hyland Fisher and Holden Fisher.
