He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoyle Lee Gillespie and Laura Etta Stocton Gillispie. He is survived by: his children, Harvey L. Gillespie, Jr. (Lisa) of Fayetteville, NC, Anita Gillespie of Columbus, Ohio and Sandra Gillispie of Columbus, Ohio; his sisters, Eva Johnson (Curtis) of Mooresville, NC and Carol Miller of Mooresville, NC; his granddaughter Candice Bennett (Melvin); the mother of his children Brenda Fields of Columbus, Ohio; and his caregivers, Lorene Clowney and Angela Day. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel (923 Indiana St, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. Due to Covid-19 Masks are appreciated if worn to all services.
