Diane Keever wrote a sympathy message

“We offer our deepest sympathy and prayers for the family. Gene was one of the best. Kind hearted, hard working and he loved his family so much. I know that he is flying high with all the other cowboys who have gone before him and they are on that beautiful, heavenly range, having a wonderful time riding their horses (Chocolate) and rounding up the cows! He is no longer in pain, no sickness and no doubt has already seen God "face to face" What a joy for he is now in Jesus' care.”
