He was predeceased by: his parents, George Frederick Hilbish and Ada Lee Canody; his wife Betty Hilbish; his siblings, Frank and Jane; and his son-in-law Rick Martin.
He is survived by: his children, George (Lisa Hilbish), Melissa Hilbish (Hal Resnick), Grady (Sally Kennington), Dana Martin and Shelton (Robert Johnson); and his grandchildren, Anna Grace Hilbish (Dylan Resnick), Katie (LeVar Moore), Jake Kennington (Heather), David Prince (Drew) and Olivia Martin (Nick Reid). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 525 Lake Concord Rd NE, Concord, NC 28025.
