She is survived by: her son Steve Melvin (Evelyn Lopez-Melvin) of Kannapolis, NC; her grandchildren, Steven J. Melvin of Clover, SC, Brandon M. Melvin and Adrianna Balmant-Melvin of Teaneck, NJ; her siblings, Robert Barnes (Mary) of Kannapolis, NC, William Barnes (Joyce) of Kannapolis, NC, Ella Mae Howard of Charlotte, NC, Marie Bankhead of Kannapolis, NC and Evelyn Knox (Paul) of Kannapolis, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Brenda Jackson (Gerald) of Winston, GA and Adelaide Curry Barnes of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
