With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Evelyn Whitley (Kannapolis, North Carolina), who passed away on March 2, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Kemp B. Garris and Pauline W. Garris; her husband William P. Whitley; her sister Beverly G. Chaffin; her children, Mel Thompson (Myra), Trent Thompson (Marlene), Annette Austin (Jimmy) and Alyson Whitley; her grandchildren, Corey Davis (Tim), Erin Thompson, Kemp Thompson, Hunter Thompson and Barrett Austin (Angie); and her brother-in-law Gene Chaffin. She was also cherished by 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Salvation Army of Cabarrus County or Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church.
