It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Etta Bell Banks of Kannapolis, North Carolina, who passed away on January 31, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Gibson and Virginia Allison Gibson; and her sisters, Alma Gibson and Lisa Gibson. She is survived by: her husband Hugh Lee Banks; her children, Cynthia McCormick of Charlotte, NC, Laticia Cooke (Chris) of Concord, Latoya Gibson of Salisbury, NC, Timothy McCormick (Mattie) of Kannapolis, Larry Gibson of Ohio and Edward McCormick (Karen Netta) of Kannapolis; her granddaughters, Ebony McCormick and Karissa Kennedy; and her siblings, Frances Everett of Kannapolis, Montrose Allison of Kannapolis, Camellia Watson of Kannapolis, Herman Gibson of Kannapolis, Herbert Gibson of Kannapolis and Eric Gibson of Shelby, NC. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
