She was predeceased by: her parents, George Gilbert Taylor and Rosanna Jane Misenheimer Taylor; her husband Paul Baxter Burgess; her children, Carolyn "Candy" Twitty, George Baxter Burgess, Larry Donald Burgess and Allan Duncan Burgess; and her sister Grace Marie McRorie.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Elizabeth Burgess of Kannapolis, Grace Marie Burgess of Rockwell, Paul "Red" Sylvester Burgess of Kannapolis and Levi Burgess of Rockwell. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
