She was predeceased by: her parents, George Jefferson Holden Sr. and Ethel Mae Tart Holden; her husband Clarence Calvin Gainey; her siblings, George Jefferson Holden, Jr., Leonard Holden and Patricia Holden Benning; and her grandson Patrick John Gainey.
She is survived by: her son Tony John Gainey (Debora) of Kannapolis; her siblings, Judy Mauldin (David) of Charlotte and William Leroy Holden of Charlotte; her grandchildren, Christina Marie Hodges (Michael) of Troutman and Jonathan Ray Gainey of Kannapolis; and her great grandchildren, Aeryn, Sage, Madelyn and Connor.
