He was predeceased by: his parents, Elijah Collier and Vivian Lucille Davidson Collier; his son Melvin E. Collier; and his sisters, Mae Virginia Letsinger, Margaret Austin, Jessie Nance, Mildred Russell and Juanita Graham.
He is survived by: his wife Yvette Hendrickson Collier; his children, Elijah D. Collier (Cheryl) of Greer, SC and Heather Collier of Kannapolis, NC; his grandchildren, Elijah H. Collier, Elijah E. Collier and Kai C. Collier; and his sisters, Lucille Collier of Salisbury, NC, Katherine Eller of Kannapolis, NC and Shirley Whitaker of Kannapolis, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Moores Chapel AME Zion Church (500 Partee St, Salisbury, NC 28144). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. Due to Covid-19 Masks are appreciated if worn to all services.
